Five for Friday

Time for another link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching.
Well Valentine's Day has come and gone! This year we put our desks around the perimeter of the room with our bags on top of each desk...so that those exchanging goodies could walk around in the middle and make their deliveries. While the class was watching Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch, I had time to staple up the bags just in time for dismissal. So much better doing this at the end of the day!
My kiddos had fun working on this February review pack. I heard tons of good discussion about fractions as they worked together to complete the activities.

For Presidents' Day I will be pulling out another one of my favorite read alouds...Those Rebels, John and Tom, by Barbara Kerley. We will be able to review the Declaration of Independence, talk about friendship, and work on compare/contrast activities all with this one sweet book.
And then a bar graph activity using presidential birthday month data...
This no prep activity has everything I need for a quick center or to use in my sub plans.

Have a great week!

Five for Friday

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching. One of these days I will have my post ready for Five for Friday...but not this week.
Valentines Day is coming this week! I love this read aloud...
Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch is available on Storyline Online. It will be the perfect ending for our valentine exchange...and gives me a few minutes to pull things together for dismissal. We will listen to the story on Tuesday...and then use the book throughout the week.
I'm putting together a few review activities for stations on Monday. We will review math properties and put together a valentine bag.
This is a freebie...
Have a great week!
